Fitter Schools UK Challenge 2008
Ian Wright, Fit For Sport and Next Generation Clubs are inviting Primary and Secondary schools in the UK to take part in the 2nd annual Fitter Schools UK Challenge 2008. We have set an FREE annual Challenge for all schools to have the chance to win sports equipment or coaching services, helping engage children of all fitness and activity levels into exercise and encouraging children to live a healthy lifestyle. The 2007 Fitter Schools UK Challenge was a huge success, engaging nearly 3,000 schools across the UK, over 1 million school children and improved children’s fitness on average by 14.5%. More info...
The Fitter Schools UK Challenge 2008 will have 2 categories compared to last year’s Challenge. This year, all schools who enter, including both primary and secondary school categories, will be competing for 2 different titles: Fitter Schools UK Challenge 2008 winner and Fittest School UK Challenge 2008 winner.
As per last year, the Fitter Schools UK Challenge winner(s) is defined as the school with the most improved fitness scores over two assessments. However, this year, the both results entered by schools will go towards defining the Fittest School UK Challenge winner(s) based on the total score against the number of pupils entered by an individual school. This will help attract many primary and secondary schools who are already fit from last year’s Challenge and would not be able to improve as much as new or existing schools that enter.
The winning school(s) will receive thousands of pounds worth of sports equipment or coaching services, presented by ex Arsenal and England legend Ian Wright. This year, there will also be regional prizes in both Challenges for winning schools, and every single regional winner will receive a trophy and certificate in recognition of their achievements.
