How the Challenge will run?
Children will receive a bronze, silver or gold standard dependent on the scoring range they achieve. The total scores for each class will give a school a total overall score for both assessment 1 and assessment 2, and the difference in scores will determine a school's percentage improvement and the Fitter Schools UK Challenge winner(s) in the primary and secondary categories.
The total school score for both assessments divided by the number of pupils taking part will also determine the Fittest School UK Challenge winner(s) in both primary and secondary categories.
The assessments should only take approximately 1 hour for each class, with one assessment at the beginning and one at the end of each term to record results. Every child has the ability to make a difference by working together as a team, motivating and supporting each other and encouraging their classmates to try their best. Schools will automatically be entered for both Challenges as it is their school scores that will go towards their final results.
The Fittest School UK Challenge regional winners will be invited to attend a special Schools Cup Challenge Final at a surprise location to determine the Fittest School in the UK for 2008.
The Fitter School UK Challenge winners will attend a special awards ceremony with Ian Wright and Fit For Sport.
